Details
Thermal Grizzly's Minus Pad 8 is an electrically insulating thermal pad for the gaps between components and their cooler, here as two strips of 120 x 20 mm, each 0.5 mm thick. Need only one? The single strip is here.

What it is for
The Minus Pad series consist of high performance thermal pads with a very elastic and flexible surface area, compensating for even the smallest of gaps between components. According to Thermal Grizzly's data sheet they are mainly used when refurbishing graphics cards or converting a graphics card to a water cooler (a GPU water block). They can also be used when installing M.2 SSDs. The manufacturer lists three properties for the series:
- High thermal conductivity
- High compressibility
- Electrical insulation
The lightest of touches is enough to attach them optimally, and the pads are easy to process. Thermal Grizzly's pad range also includes the Minus Pad Extreme V2, which we stock in this size as a 2 pack.
Material
The material is made up of different constituents and is based on a ceramic silicon formula complex and nano aluminum oxide. Thus, in Thermal Grizzly's words, the pads ensure a heat transfer that stays constant and optimal. The color is pink, and all pads are ecofriendly and RoHS-compliant.
Sizes and thicknesses
Thermal Grizzly makes the minus pads 8 available in a variety of sizes, 30x30mm, 120x20mm and 100x100mm, as well as in thicknesses of 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm and 3mm. In 120 x 20 mm we stock the single strip in 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm. The data sheet puts the two strips together at 9 g, or 16 g with their packaging.
