Who it is for
The paste was created especially for the overclocking community, whose applications are extremely demanding and whose expectations are the highest. Outside overclocking it is also highly recommended by Thermal Grizzly as a top product for critical cooling systems in the industrial environment. The name fits: "Kryo" is the Greek word for "cold", also found in the German word for "cryoengineering", which suggests that this paste is for cryogenic applications, for the true "Kryonauts" among the "extreme overclockers". Thermal Grizzly's entry-level paste is Aeronaut, and the same line has Kryonaut Extreme.
Carrier structure
The paste uses a special carrier structure that halts the drying out process at temperatures of up to 80° Celsius. The same structure ensures the nano-aluminum and zinc oxide components bond optimally to compensate for unevenness of the component (i.e. the CPU) or the heat sink, thus achieving what the manufacturer calls remarkable heat transfer and excellent thermal conductivity. Thermal Grizzly says the paste needs no curing and names long-term durability among its properties; it has no electrical conductivity.
Applying it
Clean the CPU heat spreader and cooler with a dry cloth or high-percentage isopropanol. Put a drop of approximately 3 x 3 mm on the heat spreader. Work it out evenly with the spatula, very slowly and with a little pressure, into a layer that is as thin as possible and still covers the entire surface. A plastic card with a straight edge also works, never a metal object.
