Silicone Bending Inserts
Hard tube collapses when you heat it and bend it. The insert goes inside the tube first, holds the wall out through the bend, and comes back out afterward. Without one you get a kinked, flattened bend that restricts flow and looks exactly as bad as it sounds.
The insert has to match your tube inner diameter, not the outer. Alphacool covers ID 3/8" / 10mm and ID 1/2" / 13mm in 30cm, 100cm and 150cm lengths. Barrow silicone bending cord comes in 8mm, 12mm and 10mm at 1M. Mayhems supplies 9.5mm for 10mm ID tube and 12.7mm for 13mm ID tube, both 1 meter.
Get a cord longer than the piece you are bending. It has to run past the bend on both sides to keep the wall supported, and pulling a short cord out of a finished bend is how tubes crack.
This is hard tube only. Soft tube is cut to length and routed, never heated.
