Brackets and Backplates

A CPU block only cools as well as it is clamped. The bracket sets the contact pressure and the backplate spreads that load across the back of the board so it does not bow. When you change sockets, the block usually stays and the mounting changes, which is what this section is for.

We stock brackets, backplates, retrofit kits and carrier clips from Aquacomputer, Alphacool, Watercool and Thermal Grizzly. Desktop coverage runs LGA 115x, 1200, 1700, 2011, 2011-3 and 2066 on the Intel side, and AM4, AM5, TR4, SP3 and sTRX4 on the AMD side. Workstation and server sockets are here too: LGA 3647, 4189, 4677, 4926 and EPYC SP5 on LGA 6096.

One thing worth knowing before you order: LGA 1700 hardware fits LGA 1851. Both sockets use the same 78 x 78mm mounting pattern at a 75 x 75mm pitch with near identical stack height, so an LGA 1700 bracket and backplate mounts an Arrow Lake board with no new parts. If a listing only names 1700, that is the listing being older than the socket.

Check the block family as well as the socket. An Eisblock XPX Pro kit and an Eisbaer kit are not interchangeable, and Aquacomputer splits its retrofit kits by cuplex kryos generation and by whether your block is the acrylic version.
