The Aquacomputer ULTITUBE D5 200 PRO LEAKSHIELD Reservoir with D5 NEXT Pump is a tube reservoir with a D5 NEXT pump already mounted in its base and the LEAKSHIELD leak prevention system on top. It comes as a combination consisting of expansion tank and LEAKSHIELD: a 200 mm borosilicate glass tube holding approx. 470 ml, two G1/4 threads and an RGBpx LED ring.

Borosilicate glass tube and filter
Every reservoir in the ULTITUBE series is equipped with a tube of borosilicate glass. In contrast to the acrylic glass often used for tube reservoirs, borosilicate has a very high hardness and scratch resistance, as well as very low thermal expansion. Its chemical and thermal resistance are excellent. The tube has a diameter of 65 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm, and the number 50/100/150/200 in the Ultitube series product name refers to its length in millimeters. Black anodized aluminum rings bonded to both ends stay out of contact with the coolant.
The base and the lid are made of resilient acetal and screwed to the tube. A filter element of stainless steel mesh is integrated in the base, held in a molded rubber part. It is easy to clean, for example under running water, and in addition to catching particles it reduces air bubbles.
RGBpx LED ring and fixation ring
The PRO version is rounded off with an impressive RGBpx-compatible LED ring with 13 addressable LEDs that effectively light the reservoir. It can be easily connected to the D5 NEXT pump, and a connector at the end of the strip takes another RGBpx component in a chain. A rubber fixation ring with a stainless steel insert is in the scope of delivery as well, for an additional, vibration dampening fixation in the upper area of the glass tube.
LEAKSHIELD leak prevention
LEAKSHIELD actively protects against leaks thanks to the negative pressure it generates in the whole coolant loop. This means that with a leak, no more coolant leaks out of the system: ambient air is sucked in instead. Its amount is adjusted to the installed coolant pump so that it reaches everywhere in the loop. The air that enters is then pumped out of the system by the integrated vacuum pump, which maintains the vacuum. Of course, it does not protect against major damage, such as torn tubes: with a massive leak, for example a completely separated tube, coolant may still exit.
Aquacomputer's point is that the user almost no longer needs to worry about the tightness of his or her water cooling. LEAKSHIELD also monitors the loop continuously, and its highly accurate pressure sensor catches even very small leaks.
Leak tester, fill level and filling
Even before the water cooling system is put into operation for the first time, LEAKSHIELD checks it for leaks. It works by creating a vacuum as a test pressure, and the system is then checked for pressure changes. Even minuscule changes are detected, and the leak rate can be displayed in ml/h.
From the changes in pressure and the volume of air it has pumped, LEAKSHIELD can precisely calculate the current fill level of the reservoir. It can also simplify filling by drawing the coolant directly from the bottle through an optional suction line, instead of pouring it in, which prevents splashing and spills. A vacuum of 250 to 300 mbar is generated for this, and the water pump must be switched off while filling.
D5 NEXT pump
An Aqua Computer D5 NEXT pump is installed directly into the base of the reservoir. Its key features:
- Laing D5 motor on a ceramic bearing, for optimum durability and smoothness
- Detachable controller unit for easy access to the electrical connectors
- High resolution OLED display and integrated buttons, so it works even without a PC
- Integrated RGBpx illumination for light effects and alarm indication, and a water temperature sensor
- PWM fan output with up to 25 watts and speed monitoring, usable alternatively as a flow sensor input
- Versatile control options, with eight further values sent from the PC by the aquasuite software
- RGBpx LED output for up to 90 addressable LEDs, or alternatively an aquabus interface to an aquaero 5/6
- Alarm buzzer, power supply via SATA connector, USB 2.0 interface and firmware updates via USB
- Mechanical flow sensors such as the high flow LT (53291) or high flow 2 (53292) on the fan connector, and an aquaero 5/6 such as the aquaero 6 LT on the Bus connector
Mounting
Mounting material in the box covers installation to a side or rear panel, or standing on the bottom of the PC case, which Aquacomputer prefers for stability. For decoupling, four soft rubber buffers are included. The reservoir can stand directly on the D5 NEXT pump, and Aquacomputer recommends additional stabilization with the D5 NEXT bracket (34111). Brackets for a 120 mm fan mounting position (34112) or a 140 mm one (34113) are available as accessories, not included.
What the loop needs
Order two G1/4 fittings from our fittings section, with the return line on the port engraved IN. The pump takes a SATA plug from the power supply. The pump and LEAKSHIELD each take one of the two internal USB cables to a USB 2.0 header, and LEAKSHIELD draws its 5 V DC supply from it. For standby operation, set that USB port in the BIOS to stay powered. Its signal header can shut the PC down on an alarm, as the power button would, with the power button cable (53216), not included.
LEAKSHIELD can only be used if the maximum pump pressure in the system is below 450 mbar, which Aquacomputer says is true of almost all systems with one pump. The tubing must suit the vacuum: PVC soft tubing needs an outer diameter of at least 1.5 times the inner one, PUR about 1.2 times, and hardtubes generally suit. Keep at least 100 ml of air in the reservoir. For coolant, Aquacomputer approves only its DP Ultra series, such as Double Protect Ultra.
aquasuite software
System requirements are Windows 10 or newer and an internal USB 2.0 port. Activating the product gives you the current aquasuite version with an upgrade service for at least eighteen (18) months. Afterward, the latest version from that period stays usable without a time limit. The update service can optionally be extended or renewed at any time for a fee, and installation and activation need an internet connection.

Notes
- Never use a coolant with solid micro particles: they damage the D5 pump bearing, may destroy the borosilicate glass tube and can clog or even destroy the LEAKSHIELD membrane. Never use a coolant with flammable substances.
- Never touch the membrane on the bottom side of LEAKSHIELD; a damaged membrane lets moisture in and can make the unit fail.
- The pump must not run dry.
- Screw fittings in with light force only, so the threads in the plastic base part are not damaged.
- The fan connector works as a fan output or as a flow sensor input, and the Bus connector as aquabus or RGBpx output, never both at once.
