The Aquacomputer ULTITUBE 50 PRO Reservoir for D5 Pumps (34154) is a D5 pump reservoir: any D5 pump mounts into its base, giving approx. 110 ml of coolant capacity, G1/4 connection threads and a borosilicate glass tube 50 mm long. A pressure equalization membrane in the lid and an RGBpx LED ring with 13 addressable LEDs come with it. The D5 pump is required and not included: it is not possible to use the reservoir without one.

Borosilicate glass instead of acrylic
Every reservoir in the ULTITUBE series is equipped with a tube of borosilicate glass. Tube reservoirs are often made of acrylic glass (Plexiglas). In contrast to it, borosilicate glass has a very high hardness and scratch resistance, and Aquacomputer points to its excellent chemical and thermal resistance and very low thermal expansion. The tube's outer diameter is 65 mm with a wall thickness of 5 mm. Please note that in the ULTITUBE product name, the number 50/100/150/200 refers to the length of the glass tube in millimeters, so this one is 50 mm.
Metal rings made of black anodized aluminum are firmly connected to both ends of the glass, and they do not come into contact with the cooling medium. Base and lid are durable acetal, screwed to the tube. After unscrewing the cap there is a large opening, which makes filling the expansion tank easy.
Filter and seals
The bottom of the container holds an integrated filter element of fine stainless steel wire mesh. In addition to its function as a particle filter, it separates air bubbles from the coolant as well. The mesh is integrated into a molded rubber part, so it can be rinsed out under running water, for example tap water. The seal in the upper area of the glass tube is also a molded rubber part, designed for easy assembly. It is therefore securely positioned when the lid is screwed on.
Pressure equalization membrane (PRO version)
What sets the PRO version of the ULTITUBE D5 apart is a gas exchange membrane integrated directly into the lid of the reservoir. Gases pass through the diaphragm, so pressure fluctuations caused by temperature changes are continuously compensated via the membrane. Coolant is not able to escape that way, while the internal pressure of the loop is being equalized with the ambient pressure.
RGBpx LED ring
The included RGBpx-compatible LED ring carries 13 individually addressable LEDs and can be used to effectively illuminate the reservoir. A connector at the end of the strip is there for connecting another RGBpx component in series. To operate the ring, an Aqua Computer control unit with an RGBpx output is required (e.g. the D5 NEXT, not included in the scope of delivery).
Pump mounting
Every D5 pump offered by Aqua Computer can be mounted on the bottom of the expansion tank, and so can identical pumps from other manufacturers. The pump is attached via a slim threaded ring of black anodized aluminum, and that ring and its seal come in the box. Aquacomputer says attention was paid to optimal flow behavior when developing the reservoir. In its words, the result is extremely quiet and smooth-running operation of the pump, with noise and vibration reduced to a bare minimum.
With a D5 pump installed the reservoir measures approx. 72 x 72 x 150 mm, and with a D5 NEXT pump approx. 72 x 72 x 165 mm (pumps not included). Our D5 pumps section has the motors that fit.
What the loop needs
Besides the D5 pump, reservoir connections are not included: please order suitable G1/4 fittings separately from our reservoir fittings section. Fastening material for mounting ULTITUBE on a side/rear wall, or vertically on the bottom of the case, is included, and four soft rubber decouplers are included for decoupling. The technical specifications give all dimensions without the fastening material.
For an additional, vibration-damping attachment of the expansion tank in the upper area of the glass tube, a rubber mounting ring with a stainless steel insert is in the box as well. When the reservoir is combined with a D5 NEXT pump, the right angle mounting bracket in the box cannot be used. Instead, the reservoir can stand directly on the D5 NEXT. Alternatively, a suitable right angle bracket is available as an optional accessory, the D5 NEXT bracket for ULTITUBE D5 reservoirs (item number 34111).
