Quick Overview

All reservoirs of the aqualis series are equipped with a borosilicate glass tube. In contrast to acrylic glass, which is often used for tube reservoirs, borosilicate glass is extremele hard and scratch-resistant, features superb thermal and chemical resistance and a very low thermal expansion.

Why borosilicate glass

Every reservoir of the aqualis series is equipped with a tube of borosilicate glass. In contrast to the acrylic glass that tube reservoirs often use, borosilicate glass is extremely hard and scratch-resistant. It has superb thermal and chemical resistance, and its thermal expansion is very low.

The nano coating will cause water to roll off the inner surface of the tube. All aqualis variants are also available with this coating, and this tube is the coated version.

How the reservoir is built

The tube sits between a base and a top made from Delrin, and the two are connected by a stainless steel tube. On the aqualis base for pump adapters variants, the sockets at the base of the reservoir mean it can only be used in combination with a compatible Aqua Computer pump adapter.

Variant features

Special features of art. no. 34044, 34045, 34051 and 34073: the base part has two G1/4 threads, into which up to two optional illumination modules can be installed. One example is art. no. 34920, which is not included in delivery.

Special features of art. no. 34046, 34047, 34052 and 34074: these feature a fountain effect, realized as an optical highlight. If the return line goes to the connector in the socket, the water flows up through the stainless steel tube to the top, where it is ejected through eight nozzles. With illumination this becomes a real eye catcher effect. A thin acrylic plate near to the bottom reduces air ingestion to a minimum. These reservoirs additionally have an acrylic window in the base part, which takes up to six LEDs of 5 mm size (for example art. no. 95025, not included in delivery).

What it needs

The tube is a spare for an existing 880 ml aqualis. Other replacement glass for tube reservoirs is in our replacement tubes section, and the reservoirs themselves are under Aquacomputer aqualis BASE reservoir.
