The Aquacomputer Backplate For Kryographics NEXT RTX 2080, Active XCS is an active GPU backplate for a reference design RTX 2080 fitted with a kryographics NEXT 2080 water cooler. It is made for use with a kryographics block only.

Cooling the voltage regulator from the back
The plate is milled from solid (massive) aluminum and can be mounted in addition to the water block. It adds mechanical stability to the graphics card, and in particular it can significantly improve the heat distribution in the area of the voltage regulator. Its finish is black anodized.
For optimum heat dissipation the backplate is connected directly to the water circuit via a heatpipe. For this purpose, the original black connection terminal of the graphics card cooler is removed. The block is then connected directly to the heatpipe connection terminal that comes with the back plate, which thus replaces the one first installed on the kryographics water block.

Installation
Thermal pads go onto the marked areas of the plate, which is then fastened with three M2.5 x 8 mm and three M2.5 x 10 mm countersunk screws. The two gaskets of the old terminal move to the new one. Thermal compound goes into the heat pipe groove, and the stainless steel cover holds the pipe with four M3 x 5 mm screws.
What the card needs
Delivery is without graphics card and without kryographics water cooler: order both separately. The water blocks we carry for this card are in our NVIDIA RTX 2080 section. The heat pipe groove also takes thermal compound.
Notes
- Power on only when plate and block both have level contact to all relevant components; do not overtighten the screws.
