Quick Overview

The Aqualis XT Borosilicate reservoirs are some of the highest quality, most integrated reservoirs we carry. This aquainlet XT 150 ml has an electronic fill level sensor and a holder for one 5 mm LED, and mounts directly onto an aquastream XT / ULTIMATE or Eheim 1046 pump.

Details

The Aquacomputer Aquainlet XT 150 mL with Fill Level and Lighting Option is a 150 ml tube reservoir that mounts directly onto an aquastream XT / ULTIMATE or Eheim 1046 pump. An electronic fill level sensor with USB and aquabus sits in its base. Pump and fittings are not included.

Properties

Pump
aquastream XT / ULTIMATE, Eheim 1046 and pumps identical in construction
Capacity
approx. 150 ml
Ports
G1/4, return line at the front or the side
Size
approx. 58 x 67 x 198 mm without pump
Lighting
one 5 mm LED behind an acrylic window

Built onto the pump

Aquacomputer says the reservoir is matched so closely to the pump that the two form one unit once installed. The mounting rails of the pump carry on into the reservoir, so for the first time the mounting plate can go beneath the center of gravity. That is especially helpful with rubber decouplers or a shoggy sandwich. An o-ring seals the suction port, and two latches hold the reservoir on the pump housing so the bayonet coupling of the pump cover cannot come loose by accident. Two connection threads for the return line, front and side, help most where space is limited.

Borosilicate glass tube

Like all reservoirs of the Aqualis series, its close relative, the aquainlet is equipped with a borosilicate glass tube. Acrylic glass is often used for tube reservoirs; borosilicate glass, in contrast, is extremely hard and scratch-resistant. It features superb thermal and chemical resistance and a very low thermal expansion. On the 100 ml and 150 ml variants the tube has an outer diameter of 50 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. Base and top are made from Delrin and connected by a stainless steel rod. The variants are also available with a nano coating that will cause water to roll off the inner surface of the tube.

Fill level sensor, alarm output and lighting

The XT variants feature an acrylic window in the base part, where one LED (5 mm size) can be installed. They additionally carry an electronic fill level sensor (an mps pressure Δ40) with USB and aquabus interface, a programmable alarm output and an external temperature sensor input. For monitoring and configuration, the aquasuite software can be downloaded free of charge. In addition to USB, the 4-pin aquabus interface connects the sensor directly to an aquaero 5 or 6 controller such as the aquaero 6 LT (not included in delivery).

The alarm output works either as an rpm signal for a fan connector with fault detection (for example motherboard fan headers) or as a switched output, for example to connect a LED. Fill level and external temperature can each be configured to raise an alarm. The input is compatible with all Aqua Computer temperature sensors, such as the G1/4 temperature sensor (53067). Many reservoirs from Aquacomputer are also available with pump top adapters and pumps pre-installed; this one comes without a pump.

What the loop needs

Remove the silver suction grille and any connection adapter from the suction side of the pump, then slide the reservoir onto the suction port until it locks. A little water or glycerin on the seal inside eases this. The return line of the water circuit goes to one base connector and a sealing screw closes the other. The pressure line runs straight to the pressure port of the pump, which may need an additional connection adapter (not included). G1/4 fittings are ordered separately from our fittings section.

Compatibility

Aquacomputer lists the reservoir as compatible with these pumps:

  • aquastream XT / ULTIMATE
  • Eheim 1046 and pumps identical in construction

aquasuite software

Activating this product gives you the current aquasuite version with an upgrade service for at least six (6) months; afterwards the latest version from that period stays usable with no time limit. The update service can be extended or renewed for a fee. Installation and activation need an internet connection.

Technical details

Dimensions without pump approx. 58 x 67 x 198 mm
Filling volume approx. 150 ml
Connection threads G1/4
Recess around connection threads of the base part diameter 26 mm, depth 4 mm (front) / 10 mm (side)
Recess around connection threads of the lid diameter 23 mm, depth 3 mm

Notes

  • Connectors wider than the recesses fit only with suitable extensions (not included).
  • Fit the LED into the mounting hole above the pump receptacle before the reservoir goes onto a pump, and secure it with a little glue; a small channel in the base carries its cable.
  • To open the reservoir, turn the top counter-clockwise. On reassembly, align the gaskets in their grooves and use moderate force, no tools.

In the box

  • 1x Reservoir Tube
  • 1x Eheim Pump Top
  • 1x Pressure Release Fitting
  • Hardware and Accessories
  • Two sealing screws G1/4 (preinstalled)
  • One internal USB connection cable

The installation manual for the aquainlet 100/150 PRO/XT covers the LED, mounting on the pump, taking the reservoir apart and connecting it to the loop.
