Quick Overview

The airplex radical series combines some key features from the renowned airplex modularity series in a new design, radically reduced to function and performance. The result is a radiator of excellent quality for a competitive price. Just as the airplex modularity series, no welding is performed during production of the airplex radical series, preventing any welding residues inside the radiator. The coolant does not have contact to any other materials than seals, Delrin, copper and stainless steel.

Details

The Aquacomputer Airplex Radical 2/240, Aluminum Fins (33703) is a 240 mm water cooling radiator for two fans, 40 mm thick, with aluminum fins on copper tubes and G1/4 connection threads. Eight M3 threaded inserts and eight M3 x 25 screws come with it.

Built like the modularity series, reduced to function

The airplex radical series combines some key features of Aquacomputer's renowned airplex modularity series in a new design, radically reduced to function and performance. Aquacomputer says the result is a radiator of excellent quality for a competitive price. Just as with the modularity series, no welding is performed during production, preventing any welding residues inside the radiator. The coolant does not have contact with materials other than seals, Delrin, copper and stainless steel.

Threaded inserts for the fans

For an improved and easier installation process, the radiator comes equipped with threaded inserts made from nickel plated brass. They protrude into the mounting holes of the fans, so the fans are "automatically" aligned correctly to the threads, which Aquacomputer calls extremely convenient, especially with large radiators. Additionally, each insert results in a deeper thread. The screw can therefore be positioned farther away from the tubes and fins, reducing the risk to damage the radiator by using too long screws.

If this radiator is to go in without fans, the inserts can also be turned upside-down, resulting in a nearly flat surface, so there is no gap between radiator and PC case. Slide rails for the inserts run along both sides of the radiator, and small notches in the rails lock each insert when installed. Inserts for one side of the radiator are included in delivery.

Frame and size

The frame is made from stainless steel, and for optical purposes its rear is chromated in dark gray. Aquacomputer points out that the total dimensions are extremely compact in relation to the fin dimensions: 280 x 140 x 40 mm.

What the loop needs

The radiator takes two fans. Additional inserts are available separately, for example to fit fans on the second side: the Threaded Insets for Airplex Radical, 4 Pieces (33559). Each port in use takes one G1/4 fitting from our fittings section.
