Quick Overview

The Alphacool NexXxoS radiators are the highest value, most versatile radiators we carry here. They come in four different thicknesses, and in in just about every configuration imaginable! Perfect for nearly all fan speeds, the NexXxoS series radiators look sleek and will last multiple builds.

Details

The Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 360mm Radiator is a 360 mm radiator for three 120 mm fans. It measures 400 x 124 x 86 mm, which Alphacool files in its 69 - 100mm thickness class, and it has six G1/4 connections and M3 fan threads.

Full copper

Alphacool says the new NexXxoS radiators are the first to truly deserve the "Full copper" attribute. All main parts are made from copper: not only the fins and channels, but the chambers also. In Alphacool's account this brings an improvement in performance where other radiators are left without a chance. It adds that the material already gives an advantage over the competition and that the inner structure is up to par with it. Separated chambers give the coolant a clear direction, allowing high flow rates which improve the performance of the whole cooling loop. The chambers on the heat exchanger are flat, and thanks to the reduced overall length they increase mounting flexibility.

The technical specifications for the materials are mostly copper inside, and a casing with side panels of steel and threads of brass around the copper chambers.

Ports and mounting

Versatile and easy mounting is one of the main points on which the research and development department at Alphacool focused. The chamber offers three possibilities for fitting installation on both inlet and outlet (not on the NexXxoS ST30). With that choice, less angled fittings are needed, improving flow rates and offering more mounting possibilities. Hence the radiator can even be installed in tight enclosures, where internal installation is otherwise not a possibility. A G1/4 screw plug, found on all UT60 and NexXxoS Monsta radiators, allows easy de-aeration and hassle-free vertical installation of the heat exchanger. Its threaded opening can even be used for filling, e.g. in combination with a Fillport.

Fans and screws

Alphacool calls versatility the essence of the new NexXxoS series. The radiators are available in different versions to be used with 120mm, 140mm or 180mm fans, and in different thicknesses. Of the choice of 30mm, 45mm and 60mm, Alphacool says it offers "the perfect radiator for every purpose". Mounting and installation of fans and radiator grills is meant to be just as easy and versatile with these radiators. The M3 threads are standard in the radiator sector, and M3 screws are available in all lengths at an affordable price. Even the dreaded insertion of a screw too far into the radiator does not result in expensive damage. Unlike other radiators, the series is equipped with an internal protective ledge which stops the screw before it damages the fins.

Fin spacing

Fin spacing is always an important factor in radiator design, and this radiator has 10 fins per inch. Alphacool says the fin design of the new series allows it to perform extremely well even with slow-spinning and medium-speed fans. The fact that it avoids unnecessary noise is pleasant, and it also means that the choice of fans that can be used is not restricted.

Info about the Monsta radiators

Alphacool writes that the Monsta radiators, with a thickness of 80mm, are the first of their size on the market. It adds: "we were just as keen on finding out how they perform as the independent reviewers". According to Alphacool the tests show significantly increased flow rates than thinner radiators, and cooling performance that increased greatly with increased fan speed. That sounds normal, but Alphacool describes a different performance profile than standard radiators. At 500rpm the Monsta is slightly better than its 60mm brother, and with increasing fan speed the difference increases. At 800rpm it already performs much better. At 1200rpm, Alphacool says, a Monsta radiator is performing almost as well as a 60mm thick radiator with one fan more, at the same fan speed. Alphacool calls this truly amazing, and all that at this affordable price. It gives no test setup with these figures.

The NexXxoS range

Alphacool introduces the new NexXxoS radiators as "a name that stands for experience and quality" that has come to bring a fresh breeze to the radiator market. Its reasoning: every user of a water cooling system needs a radiator, and everyone has different requirements toward the heat exchanger. Of course, it adds, the customer always demands the best in its class. Alphacool says these radiators have come to compete with and to beat the best in their class, and to be the best radiator in all sizes. In its words there are no more endless choices without a clear class leader: the range is "the one tool for all your cooling needs". Alphacool also says it has been the company to introduce new developments and improvements in the radiator and water cooling sector generally many times over the last years. Following this tradition, it describes the radiators as the result of experience and powerful performance meeting future-oriented design and well-thought through solutions.

What the loop needs

The radiator has six G1/4 connection threads, three on the inlet and three on the outlet. A loop uses two of them, so it takes two fittings. The five plugs in the box close the connections you do not use and the de-aeration opening. It takes three 120 mm fans, and the box holds twelve M3x30mm and twelve M3x35mm screws for them.

The next thickness down in this fan size is the NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper 360mm Radiator.
