The Alphacool G1/4 3/8" (10mm) 90° Revolvable Barbed Fitting with O-Ring - Black is a 90° barb fitting with a G1/4 external thread for hose with a 10 mm (3/8") inner diameter. The bend can be rotated on the thread, and there is one fitting per pack.

Why a barb

Next to its classy connectors, Alphacool offers hose nozzles as a slightly different way of joining hose and connector. Less space is lost on the nozzle, so more of the hose is shown, which Alphacool calls particularly popular with case modding systems. The 90-degree bend rotates, which makes for an easy hose connection in the system. The fitting is 29 mm in height, 35 mm in width and 17 mm in depth.

Extreme high flow

The barb measures 10 mm on the outside and the connection 8 mm on the inside, an even larger inner diameter than normal connectors have. Alphacool calls this a unique feat in the water cooling scene and an absolute innovation. In its words, the inner diameter of these fittings truly deserves the "high flow" attribute.

Finish and colors

By the maker's account, Alphacool's fittings go new ways in looks, shape, quality of manufacturing, colors and choice. The first three colors, Chrome, Deep Black and Shiny Copper, are meant to offer something for every taste. According to Alphacool, the product matching series are designed to look elegant in every system, highlighting the individual design of the computer. In combination with Alphacool tubing, it says, the limits are endless.

A new process during chromatising leaves the surface finish completely connected with the brass body. Alphacool gives the reason: hence ensuring permanent intense colors and no peeling or flaking of the chrome layer. The Alphacool name in blue lettering on some of the fittings additionally underlines the individuality of these items.

What a run needs

The thread screws into any G1/4 port. The barb takes hose from our 3/8" inner diameter soft tubing section. A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses.
