The Alphacool G1/4 1/2" (13mm) Barbed Fitting with O-Ring "FatBoy" - Deep Black is a straight barb fitting with a G1/4 thread for hose with a 13 mm (1/2") inner diameter, one fitting per pack. Alphacool lists it for hard hoses (PUR) and soft hoses (PVC, silicone, neoprene).

What a barb fitting does
Beside classical fittings, a barb is another way to connect hoses with fittings. A barb is much more compact than a classical fitting, so more of the tube can be seen. Alphacool says that makes them very popular in case modding systems. This one is 22 mm in height and takes a 15 mm spanner.
High flow
The barb has an outer diameter of 13 mm and the fitting an inner diameter of 10 mm, bigger than on other fittings. Alphacool calls that unique in the water cooling scene and says the inner diameter of these fittings truly deserves the "high flow" attribute.
Finish and colors
By the maker's own account, Alphacool's fittings go new ways in looks, quality of manufacturing, colors and choice. The first three colors, Chrome, Deep Black and Shiny Copper, are meant to offer something for every taste. The product matching series are designed to look elegant in every system, highlighting the individual design of the computer, and in combination with Alphacool tubing the limits are endless, it says.
With a new process during chromatising, the surface finish is completely connected with the brass body. Alphacool gives the reason: hence ensuring permanent intense colors and preventing peeling of the chrome layer. Some of the fittings carry the Alphacool name in blue lettering, which additionally underlines the individuality of these items.
What a run needs
The thread screws into any G1/4 port. Alphacool gives the hose side as a hose nozzle for 12 & 13mm (1/2"), and hose to match is in our 1/2" inner diameter soft tubing section.
Notes
- Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses.
