Details
The Alphacool ES RTX 6000 Ada 48GB is a GPU water block for the PNY RTX 6000 Ada Generation 48GB workstation card (VCNRTX6000ADA-SB) and the Nvidia L40S 48GB. It is a 1-slot Copper/Carbon cooler from Alphacool's Enterprise Series for the server rack, with both G1/4 connections on the back. The aluminum backplate is in the box.

Compatibility
Alphacool lists these cards for this block:
- Nvidia L40S, 48GB GDDR6, 4x DP (900-2G133-0080-000)
- PNY RTX 6000 Ada Generation, 48GB GDDR6, 4x DP, Smallbox (VCNRTX6000ADA-SB)
The cooler was designed for one PCB layout, and card makers sometimes revise a board so that a cooler no longer fits later models. Before ordering, compare your card and its PCB number with the pictures in Alphacool's GPU configurator, or look it up in its Compatibility List for Nvidia cards.
One slot in the server rack
This ES Copper/Carbon water cooler with backplate was specially developed for the Alphacool Enterprise Series. The cooler top is made of carbon, which makes the water cooler lighter compared to Alphacool's Eisblocks (ice blocks) with acetal or acrylic tops. Thanks to the compact design, the cooler only needs 1 slot in the server rack instead of the previous 1.5 slots. Alphacool says this offers additional space savings and makes the use of the GPU water cooler, a graphics card block, even more attractive.
Connections on the back
In order to save space when installing in width and height, the water inputs and outputs were positioned on the back of the cooling block. Alphacool says this positioning of the connections significantly simplifies the tubing (hosing) of the cooler. The connection position facilitates the connection of the GPU cooler to the water circuit and enables easy tubing even in narrow server housings.
More efficient
Alphacool has managed to position the cooler as close as possible to the components to be cooled. For this purpose, the thermal pads used were reduced to a thickness of 1 mm. The copper block is of reduced thickness too, and the water flow within it has been optimized. Since both were done, Alphacool says all important components such as the GPU, the voltage converters and the VRAMs are cooled much more effectively. It calls the sum a significant increase in cooling performance.
Chrome-plated copper
The cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. Alphacool says chrome plating is harder than nickel plating and therefore more resistant to acids, scratches and damage. It adds that the chromed copper base is highly resistant to acid, so chipping of the plating can be ruled out. In its words, chrome plating also looks more homogeneous and offers a shine that cannot be achieved with nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have so far only been used in the industrial sector, where extreme loads act on the cooler.
Copper or aluminum?
Alphacool only uses copper or high-quality plastics for all water-carrying parts. It says copper has almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum, making it a better choice for water cooling.
Thermal compound and thermal pads
The included thermal compound is Alphacool's Subzero with a thermal conductivity of 16 W/mK. The non-conductive Thermal Grease is particularly suitable for high contact pressures. Alphacool says it can still be processed perfectly thanks to its viscosity of 850,000 TF. The thermal pads are soft, and Alphacool says they adapt perfectly to the components to be cooled and are very durable. The 2 mm and 3 mm thick pads have a thermal conductivity of 3 W/mK. The 1 mm thick pads can even dissipate 7 W/mK of heat.
Discreet appearance
The matte carbon finish gives the cooler what Alphacool calls an elegant appearance. This makes it interesting for private users who want to do without aRGB lighting.
What the loop needs
The cooler has two G1/4 threads, both on the back. Each takes one of the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box. Alphacool gives 60 °C as the maximum operating temperature. There is no lighting to connect. The backplate, the thermal pads, the thermal compound, a putty tool, the screws and washers and the PCI bracket come with the cooler.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the cooler be used only with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, and that this can void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Remove the original cooler on an antistatic mat and clean the card of thermal paste and pad residues before fitting the cooler. During assembly, make sure taller parts have enough space around them.
