The Alphacool ES RTX 4000 Ada Gen. 1-Slot GPU-Cooler is a GPU water block for the Nvidia RTX 4000 Ada Generation workstation card with 20GB GDDR6 (900-5G190-2270-000). It is a single-slot cooler from Alphacool's Enterprise Series with both G1/4 connections at the rear, so several cards can sit side by side in a workstation or server. The backplate is in the box.

Single slot, connections at the rear
Alphacool developed this GPU cooler for the Enterprise Series. It says the cooler impresses not only with its improved cooling performance and compact design, but also with its matte carbon look. The top is a thin carbon plate that Alphacool calls extremely stable. By using it, it was possible to design a single-slot cooler without having to compromise on the copper base. The connections are positioned at the rear. In combination with the slim build, that lets several coolers be stacked on top of each other with ease. Alphacool describes the result as a well thought-out design that saves space, simplifies tubing and enables seamless integration into the water loop.
Cooling performance
Alphacool says it has given special attention to increasing cooling performance. In addition to optimizing the water flow within the cooler and the thickness of the copper block, it uses 1 mm high-performance heat conducting pads. These measures ensure that the components to be cooled are closer to the cooler. According to Alphacool, this leads to significantly more effective cooling of all important components.
Copper or aluminum?
High-quality copper is used for all water-bearing parts. Alphacool's reason is that copper offers almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum. The copper is also chrome-plated instead of nickel-plated, which provides additional protection for the cooler. Alphacool says the chrome plating is more resistant to acids, scratches and other damages, and that this effectively prevents coatings from flaking off.
Thermal paste and thermal pads
The scope of delivery includes Apex thermal compound. Thanks to its low silicone content, Alphacool calls it the most durable thermal compound it offers. The paste is electrically non-conductive. Alphacool describes it as ideal for high contact pressures and easy to work with because of its viscosity. Soft, high-performance thermal pads are also supplied, and Alphacool says they adapt perfectly to the components to be cooled.
What the loop needs
The cooler has two G1/4 threads, both at the rear. Each takes one of the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box. There is no lighting to connect. The backplate, the thermal pads, thermal grease, a putty tool, the screws and washers and the PCI bracket come with the cooler.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the cooler be used only with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, and that this can void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Before fitting the card, remove only the plastic transport spacers. The manual says the M2x10mm screws cannot be unscrewed completely from the backplate.
