The Alphacool ES Front I/O-Panel with USB 3.0 and Cable Kit for Server Cases is a front panel board that has two USB 3.0 sockets, power and reset switches and status LEDs. It is designed for Alphacool server housings in the format from 1U to 4U, and the cable set, 80 cm in length, is included.

The panel
Alphacool calls the panel a practical solution for use in server racks and a server chassis. Besides the switches, the two USB ports offer additional connection options. So that the server functions can be monitored effectively, various status LEDs are installed on the circuit board, which is equipped with a connector for each of them. There are three for the network LEDs and one each for the HDD LED, the power LED, the power switch and the reset switch. All of them are connected via 2-pin connectors on the board.
Cable kit
The set consists of 8 cables in total, including seven 2-pin cables: three for the network LEDs and one each for the power LED, the HDD LED, the power switch and the reset switch. The eighth cable is also the one for the front ports: a connection cable with a 19-pin header for fast USB 3.0.
What the case needs
The circuit board can be fixed with 4 screws. Its mounting holes have an inner diameter of 3.5 mm and are spaced in a rectangle of 74 mm x 24 mm, measured from the center. The mainboard needs a 19-pin USB 3.0 header for the two front ports. Cases to build it into are in our server racks and cases section.
