The Alphacool Eiszapfen Quick Release Connector Kit With Double Bulkhead G1/4 Inner Thread - Silver is a quick disconnect for a water cooling loop with a G1/4 inner thread on both sides. Each half has a bulkhead screw connection, and one male and one female half come per kit. Alphacool's technical specifications give the dimensions of the joined kit as 64.6 x 23.9 mm (L x D).

Where it is used
A quick-release connector can be used anywhere in a loop where expandability, flexibility or cleanliness play a big role. The compact connectors have the 1/4" thread on both sides, making them compatible with what Alphacool calls all standard components.
How it opens and closes
The connectors are separated by pulling down the outer rings. Both sides immediately shut completely, and no water can leak out. The special N.D.S.L. technology (no drip, no splash, no leak) ensures that nothing drips, splashes or leaks out while opening the connectors. When the pieces are reconnected, both sides audibly click together and are locked tightly with a double O-ring, which is simply pressed together when reconnecting. Pressing it this way also prevents any deterioration of the O-ring. Alphacool says the mechanism was also designed for longevity, to ensure secure connections even after several years.
Flow rate
Many quick connectors tend to compromise the flow rate, but Alphacool says it has found a way to solve this problem. In its words these can still sustain a high flow rate.
Versions
The kit is available in two models, deep black and a completely chromatized (chrome-plated) one. Alphacool says that in both versions they fit seamlessly into any system. It calls these quick couplings "Icicles", the next building block in its "Ice" series.
What the loop needs
Alphacool's scope of delivery is one kit, the male and the female half. Each half ends in a G1/4 inner thread, so it takes one fitting with a G1/4 outer thread, two for the kit. More kits and single halves are in our quick disconnect fittings section.
Notes
- Alphacool's notice: do not leave the quick connectors dry for prolonged periods. Used that way, this will put stress on the O-rings, and leak tightness can no longer be guaranteed.
- Alphacool's note on application: the kit should be run only with clear, transparent water cooling fluids. The particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses.
