The Eiszapfen series

Alphacool says its Eiszapfen Connector Series is the high-end execution of these tried-and-true connectors. In its words, every requirement you could have of a connector is met with this series: highflow, form, processing and color. A refusal to compromise in development and production has made the series into what it is, it adds. Components are available in brilliant chrome or a deep, matte black, and Alphacool says both will fit excellently into any system.

Coating and logo

A special procedure binds the outer coating firmly to the surface. Alphacool names two results: improving the longevity of the intense color and preventing any chipping or peeling of the coating. Every connector now has the Alphacool logo, which along with their distinctive shape makes them unmistakable.

Connecting nut and O-ring

The connecting nut's slanted corners, in Alphacool's wording, allow the O-ring to be pressed firmly against the HardTube, ensuring it sits even more securely than before. This allows for greater safety in transport.

The series text has something for anyone looking for colorful options: the O-rings in the shipment come in three colors. With the available UV-light option, it says, these will even light up in the corresponding color. Alphacool's scope of delivery for this article lists the fitting alone.

What a run needs

Alphacool's model name is Straight Socket 16/10mm. This connector has a ¼” thread (G1/4) on one side and is thereby compatible with 95% of components, by Alphacool's count. The other side fits a 16/10 mm hose, which we stock as 3/8" ID x 5/8" OD soft tubing. A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses.
