The Alphacool Eiszapfen 16mm HardTube Compression Fitting 45° L-connector - Knurled - Chrome joins two 16 mm hard tubes at a 45° angle, one fitting per pack. It is suitable for 16mm plexi (acrylic) or brass tubes on both sides. Alphacool lists the model as the 45° compression fitting 16mm plexi / brass tubes.

The Eiszapfen series

Eiszapfen is the connector series that Alphacool describes as the high-end execution of these tried-and-true fittings. By its account everything you want in a compression fitting is here: highflow, form, processing and color. Alphacool puts that down to a refusal to compromise in development and production, which it says has made the series into what it is. The fittings are available in brilliant chrome or a deep, matte black, and Alphacool says either will fit excellently into any system. The Technical Specifications give the material of this one as brass.

Coating and logo

The outer coating is held firmly on the surface: a special procedure binds the two. Alphacool says that is improving the longevity of the intense color and preventing any chipping or peeling of the coating. Every connector now has the Alphacool logo, which along with their distinctive shape makes them unmistakable, in Alphacool's words.

How it holds the tube

The union nut's corners are slanted. They allow the O-ring to be pressed firmly against the HardTube, ensuring it sits even more securely than before. Alphacool says this allows for greater safety in transport.

What a run needs

The fitting is bent 45° in the middle to avoid complicated hose connections, so it sits between two lengths of tube. Tubes to match are in our 16mm hard tubing section, and the threaded fittings for the two ends of a run are with the 16mm hard tube fittings.

Notes

• Run it with clear, transparent water cooling fluids only. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, and that this can void the manufacturer's warranty.
