The Alphacool Eiszapfen 16mm G1/4 HardTube Knurled Compression Fitting in Deep Black is a straight fitting with a G1/4 external screw thread for HardTubes with an external diameter of 16 mm. The Eiszapfen series
Eiszapfen is Alphacool's Connector Series, which it describes as the high-end execution of these tried-and-true connectors. By its account every requirement you could have of a connector is met with this series: highflow, form, processing and color. Alphacool puts that down to a refusal to compromise in development and production, which it says has made the series into what it is. Components are available in brilliant chrome or a deep, matte black, and Alphacool says either will fit excellently into any system.
Coating and logo
The outer coating is held firmly on the surface: a special procedure binds the two. Alphacool says that is improving the longevity of the intense color and preventing any chipping or peeling of the coating. Every connector now has the Alphacool logo, which along with their distinctive shape makes them unmistakable.
How it holds the tube
The corners of the connecting nut are slanted. They allow the O-ring to be pressed firmly against the HardTube, ensuring it sits even more securely than before, and Alphacool says this allows for greater safety in transport. Anyone looking for colorful options has them: the O-rings in the shipment come in three colors. With the available UV-light option, these will even light up in the corresponding color.
What a run needs
One side of the connector screws into a G1/4 port and the other side fits the tube. A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end. Tubes to match are in our 16mm hard tubing section.
Notes
- Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
