Details
The Alphacool Eisschicht Ultra Soft Thermal Pad - 3W/mK 100x100x0.5mm is a soft thermal pad: one sheet of 100 x 100 mm, 0.5 mm thick, rated at 3W/mK. Like other heat-conducting pads, it can even out the unevenness of heat sinks and the elements to be cooled.

Thermal paste with a sunken tissue
Alphacool's ice sheet does what other pads do, but it has what the maker calls a great feature: the ice layer is made of thermal paste with a sunken tissue. Alphacool says this ensures that the performance of these pads is much more efficient than with normal thermal pads, regardless of the low W / mK value. In addition, it says, a better distribution and filling between the surfaces is achieved. This also means that better air displacement occurs.
Soft on the hardware
Due to their soft consistency, there is also no pressure on components or solder joints.
What it is for
As a basic component or spare part, thermal pads are worth keeping at hand: include them in the kit of any well organized computer tinker.
