Three models
Alphacool puts this reservoir under the heading "The step towards perfection". The new Alphacool reservoir comes in three different models. Depending on the model which you use, you can connect either a Laing DDC, the Alphacool DC-LT or the Laing D5/Alphacool VPP655 at the backplate. This one is the model for a single D5 or VPP655.
Finish and front
The brushed metal plate around the container provides an optical finishing touch, which Alphacool says is underlined by the high quality processing. The front consists of a scratch-secure soft-touch surface painted in matte black. Mounted in two of the front 5.25" bays, the Eisfach gives a good overview of the container, and the fill level is easily checked through the lighted window at the back. Additionally, the Alphacool logo in the front can be lighted by connecting the 3-pin connector with a power source.
Filling, draining and ports
A lot of details complement the first impression, in Alphacool's words. Two G1/4 holes at the top side are available for the first filling. To refill, simply remove and extract the fillport in the front. Two G1/4 holes at the bottom side facilitate the draining of the liquid, and two further holes at the left hand side provide additional opportunities to fill or drain it. The last two G1/4 threads are used for the inlet and outlet. A Bubble Down module has been placed behind the inlet to prevent turbulence that could lead air into the water circuit.
Lighting
There are two lighting modules for 5mm LEDs at the right hand side at the back of the container, behind the window. Alphacool says this provides a unique opportunity for personalized lighting and optic.
What the loop needs
Please note that the container is being delivered without a pump. Order one separately from our D5 pumps section, or take reservoir and pump together as a set: the Eisfach incl. Alphacool Eispumpe VPP755. The inlet and the outlet take one G1/4 fitting each.
Notes
- Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
