Details
The Alphacool Eisball Digital RGB - Plexi (Incl. VPP Apex PWM Pump) is a spherical 700 ml reservoir with an integrated pump top and Alphacool's VPP Apex PWM pump already pre-installed. Standard Laing D5 pumps cannot be operated upside down in it. The Eisball without a pump is the Eisball D5/VPP Ready.

Unique Design
Alphacool says the Eisball presents itself with a completely unique design: the first reservoir in the form of a sphere. In its words this makes it an absolute eye-catcher in any water-cooled system, and the shape opens countless new possibilities, especially in the field of modding. Alphacool's examples run from static single color lighting to maybe an R2D2 mod, and it sees no limits to your creativity here. The Eisball has a digital RGB ring that runs once completely around its circumference, on the equator, and 22 LEDs run inside it. Alphacool's claim is that these LEDs illuminate the Eisball perfectly and that beautiful eye-catching illumination is guaranteed. They are addressable and are housed in a chrome-plated ring that Alphacool calls elegant, one which further enhances what it calls the outstanding appearance. A digital RGB controller is of course part of the accessories, which enables you to customize the style and lighting. The Alphacool logo is a simple matte silver and, Alphacool says, fits perfectly to the overall look. It adds that the Eisball is not only a visual delight but is also unique in its functionality and technical implementation.
Versatile Mounting Options
Don't let yourself be limited to a single mounting option, Alphacool says. The included set gives you many: an adhesive mat and 2 different mounting plates put the Eisball on the radiator, the fan slots or a 2.5" SSD slot. Whether it is one or the other, you're covered, and thanks to these options the Eisball can be accommodated in many cases. The proven universal Alphacool pump mounting can also be used, alternatively.
Where's The Pump?
Another special feature of this version: the pump is in the box and in place, and Alphacool calls its VPP Apex proven. The pump almost completely disappears inside the Eisball. It is inserted into the sphere from below and fastened with a special pump bracket, the pump holder. All of Alphacool's own D5 style pumps such as the VPP655 and VPP755 are suitable for installation, as well as all original Laing D5 pumps. The installed pump must not be higher than 50 mm.
Upside down
Disclaimer: in combination with the VPP755, the Eisball can even be operated upside down, but only and exclusively with the Alphacool VPP755 pump. Due to the spherical bearing, a standard Laing D5 pump does not allow it.
Is The Eisball Quiet?
Since the pump is mounted inside the Eisball, it is almost completely enclosed by the reservoir and thus by the water, which acts as an insulation. This means that the vibrations are not transmitted to the case of the Eisball. Decouplers are also included and can be used to mount it, further reducing vibrations. Both factors together make the Eisball what Alphacool calls a real Silent product.
Filling And Connections
The fill port is on the upper side, where a fill bottle fills the Eisball quickly and easily. The manual fills it with a funnel and gives the optimal filling height as 10 mm below the opening. The maximum capacity is 700 ml. The IN and Out ports are located on the back, each with a G1/4 thread.
What the loop needs
With the pump pre-installed, the loop needs two fittings, one per port. Alphacool fittings for 16 mm hoses or 13 mm HardTube connections can be screwed in directly (13mm hard tube fittings). For 16 mm HardTube connections an extension or an elbow is required. The third thread is the fill port, which the manual says must be closed with the screw plug, using the screw plug tool. Before mounting the Eisball in the case, set the desired rotational speed on the pump by hand. After the pump first runs the water level drops, so top it up.
