The Alphacool Eisball Addressable RGB - Acryl with D5 VPP655 PWM is a spherical 700 ml reservoir with an integrated pump top and the Eispump D5 VPP655 already pre-installed. Alphacool's note: the Eisball cannot be operated upside down with the VPP655 pump! The Eisball without a pump is the Eisball D5/VPP Ready.

Unique design and excellent lighting

In contrast to conventional reservoirs this one is a sphere, a design Alphacool calls unprecedented. Alphacool says the Eisball presents itself in a unique way and that a spherical reservoir has never been seen before. It opens countless new possibilities, especially in the field of modding. Alphacool's examples run from static single color lighting to maybe an R2D2 mod: in its words there are really no limits to your creativity. The 22 digital RGB LEDs sit in a chrome ring and run completely around the equator of the Eisball. These provide versatile lighting effects as well as your standard colors. Of course the device comes with a Digital RGB Controller, which enables you to customize the style and lighting of your Eisball.

Versatile mounting options

Don't let yourself be limited to a single mounting option. The included set gives you many: an adhesive mat and 2 different mounting plates put the Eisball on the radiator, the fan slots or a 2.5" SSD slot. Whether it is one or the other, you're covered. The mounting plate goes on 120 or 140 mm fans or radiators, with 4 x M3x5 screws. Alternatively, the universal Alphacool pump mounting can also be used.

Where is the pump?

Another special feature of this version: the pump is in the box and in place, and Alphacool uses its Eispump D5 VPP655, which it calls proven. The pump disappears completely inside the Eisball. It is inserted into the sphere from below and fastened with a special pump holder. All Alphacool's own D5 style pumps such as the VPP655 and VPP755 are suitable for installation, as well as all original Laing D5 pumps. The installed pump must not be higher than 50 mm.

Is the Eisball Silent Suitable?

The pump is completely inside the reservoir and is therefore surrounded by the water, which acts as additional noise insulation. The enclosed decouplers also reduce the transmission of vibrations to a minimum. Alphacool's verdict: all in all, a real Silent product!

What the loop needs

With the pump pre-installed, the loop needs two G1/4 fittings, one for the thread marked IN and one for OUT. The third thread is the fill port on top, which the manual says must be closed with the screw plug, using the screw plug tool. Before mounting the Eisball in the case, set the desired rotational speed on the pump by hand. Fill it with a funnel through the upper fill port: the manual gives the optimal filling height as 10 mm below the opening. After the pump first runs the water level drops, so top it up.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
• The manual recommends clear coolants from Alphacool's own production (CKC or Eiswasser Crystal, no UV) or pure distilled or osmosis filtered water.
