Details
The Alphacool Core RX 9070 XT Taichi with Backplate is a GPU water block for one graphics card with an AMD chip: the ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi 16GB OC. It cools the card with a chrome-plated copper block under an acrylic top, and the aluminum backplate is in the box.

Compatibility
Alphacool lists these cards for this block:
- ASRock AMD Radeon™ RX 9070 XT Taichi 16GB OC
The block was designed for one PCB layout, and card makers sometimes revise a board so that a cooler no longer fits later models. Before ordering, compare your card and its PCB number with the pictures in Alphacool's GPU configurator, or look it up in its Compatibility List for AMD cards.
Copper block and terminal
At the center of the cooler sits a copper block that is milled from a single piece. It is complemented by a precisely machined brass connection terminal with a nylon cover. Alphacool says the chrome plating makes the copper cooler more durable and ensures a smoother and brighter surface than conventional nickel plating. The series continues to rely on high-quality brass connectors, guaranteeing what Alphacool calls optimal quality and safety. The base of the cold plate is 3.25 mm thick, and its cooling fins are 0.4 mm thick with a distance of 0.4 mm between them.
Design and lighting
Alphacool presents this block among its new graphics card water coolers for the latest AMD Radeon RX generation, as part of the Core product series. It has only slightly changed the visual design of the GPU water cooler. The newly added Core emblem above the jet plate is a special highlight. It underlines the block's affiliation with the series and visually enhances the design. The aluminum backplate is specially adapted to the card, covers the entire back of the copper cooler and ensures a clear and uniform appearance. In combination with the aRGB lighting, the acrylic enables even and impressive illumination of the entire cooler.
Flow and testing
Technically, Alphacool says, the GPU water cooler has been completely redesigned. To optimize cooling performance, it redefined and tested the gaps between the cooler and the PCB components. The water flow was simulated using what Alphacool calls state-of-the-art software, and the results were verified in practical tests. Those extensive tests enabled improvements to the cooler base and to the nozzle, which Alphacool's page calls the jetplate. The aim was to ensure the best possible cooling performance for the new generation. Alphacool's claim for the series is that these coolers combine the highest quality with exceptional performance. It also says that an optimized technical design gives them outstanding cooling performance.
What the loop needs
The block has four G1/4 connections with brass threads. Two take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box, and the other two take the two plugs that are. The lighting has a 3-Pin JST power connection and runs at a voltage of 5V, and an ARGB adapter is included. Thermal pads, thermal grease, a putty tool, a plug tool, a screwdriver and the PCI bracket complete the box. The maximum working temperature is 60 °C.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the block be used only with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage a radiator, a pump, coolers and hoses, and that this can void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Remove the original cooler on an antistatic mat and clean the card of thermal paste and pad residues before fitting the block.
- The manual has the IO shield secured with 3 screws from the graphics card's own scope of delivery.
