The Alphacool Core 120mm Fan PWM 3000rpm - 120x120x25mm is a 120 mm fan, 25 mm thick, with a control range of 0 to 3000 rpm and a 4-pin PWM connector. It has no aRGB lighting, and it is black. Where it goes
Alphacool's Core 120mm, as its maker puts it, is a quiet and efficient fan with a wide control range. Controlled via a PWM signal, it is not only suitable as a fan on CPU coolers or radiators. Thanks to what Alphacool calls excellent performance values (throughput & static pressure), it can also be used as a case fan. The double-bearing fan axis is smooth-running, which Alphacool says enables a long service life and quiet operation. Connections
The cable on the fan is 40 cm long. That allows it to be connected directly to the mainboard (motherboard) or to a special, dedicated controller, without using additional adapter cables or extensions.
Control range
Speed is set through the 4-pin PWM connection. At maximum speed the fan allows an airflow of 93.6 CFM, paired with what Alphacool calls a high static pressure of 7.83 mm/H2O. Alphacool says this makes the fan perfect for mounting on radiators of a water cooling system or for ventilating a case.
Power and service life
The nominal voltage is DC 12V, and the starting voltage is 7V. Rated capacity, the power the fan draws, is 3.0 W, and rated current is 0.25 A. The material is plastic, and the bearing type is Two Ball Bearing. Alphacool gives a life expectancy of 70000 hours at 40 degrees Celsius, and an operating temperature of -10 to +70 degrees centigrade. The other characteristics it lists are a tachometer output, auto start, soft start and waterproof level IP22.
What it needs
Each fan takes one free 4-pin PWM header. Alphacool's scope of delivery lists one fan and nothing else, so plan for fan screws if your radiator or case did not come with them.
