The Alphacool Apex Stealth Metal Aurora Fan 2000rpm White is a 140 mm PWM fan with a metal frame and aRGB lighting, in white. It runs from 300 to 2000 RPM on a 4-Pin PWM connector and can be mounted on a radiator or used as a case fan.

Decoupled from the frame

The fan blades, the motor and its mounting are completely decoupled from the metal frame. Between that frame and the fan sits a special damping system, integrated to keep the two apart and, Alphacool says, absorbing all vibrations. Alphacool calls this type of decoupling a completely new, patent-pending technology, a system introduced by the company for the first time with the Apex fan. The impeller, a special rotor, features a closed frame of its own. Furthermore, Alphacool says this prevents impeller tip flutter at high speeds, further enhancing the fan's performance. The maker's word for the result is whisper-quiet, and it says the fan also remains exceptionally quiet at any speed.

Speed and control

The fan can be controlled between 300 and 2000 RPM via the 4-pin PWM connector. The starting speed is approximately 300 RPM. Below that, the fan features a zero-RPM control, allowing it to be brought to a complete standstill.

On a radiator or in the case

Alphacool calls the fan a true, powerful all-rounder and one of the most powerful fans available. It says the fan sets new standards in airflow and static pressure. Therefore, in Alphacool's words, it is not only perfect for mounting on radiators but also ensures excellent airflow as a case fan. For a radiator, the manual says to use the matching screws from the box: 6-32 UNC, M4 or the Stealth mounting nuts. It also shows mounting on a case, connecting fans in series (daisy chain) and connecting the aRGB lighting.

Additional Features

Multiple fans can be easily daisy-chained, as is typical for Alphacool. The cables can be hidden in the corners of the fan, making them invisible. A 50 cm PWM extension cable is included, and so is an aRGB extension cable of the same length. Alphacool says the 6-pole motor, in combination with the sleeve bearing, ensures extremely smooth running and high durability.
