The Alphacool Apex Monoblock for MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI is a full-cover CPU water block for one motherboard, the MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi (AM5). As a monoblock it actively cools the CPU, the VRMs, and the primary M.2 NVMe SSD beneath the CPU socket with a single, integrated cooling solution. It is designed specifically and exclusively for that board and mounts on no other.

Fit
Compatibility is one entry: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi (AM5). Fitting the block means taking the board's own coolers off first. The manual removes the M.2 SSD cooler by its latch, then the components it labels M2, M3 and M4, each held by 2 screws on the back of the board. For M3 the screws on the I/O shield are loosened first. The two-piece AMD retention frame comes off as well.
The M.2 SSD is installed next, and the thermal pads go on the cooling block. Depending on the size of the M.2 SSD, the manual uses either the 70x22x2mm or the 101x22x2mm pad. After the CPU is cleaned and the thermal grease applied, the monoblock is secured with 6 screws, and the I/O shield screws go back in. Use the original screws for those.
Built on the Apex 1
The monoblock is built upon the design of the Alphacool Apex 1 CPU cooler, described as proven. It features an offset cooling base, optimized for AMD AM5 processors, that directs coolant precisely toward the processor's thermal hotspot. That base is combined with Alphacool's Cross-Slot fin structure and the advanced 3D Jetplate 2.0. The cooling engine generates high coolant velocity and pressure, for heat transfer Alphacool rates as exceptional and for maximum cooling efficiency. Copper and brass
The cold plate is precision-machined from a solid piece of chrome-plated copper, while the G1/4 connection terminal is manufactured from brass. The brass is called durable, chosen to ensure long-term reliability and excellent thermal conductivity. Every detail is said to be engineered to provide efficient cooling while maintaining structural integrity under continuous operation. The construction and the materials are both billed as premium.
Design and I/O cover
The motherboard-specific design features a built-in I/O cover that creates a clean, factory-style appearance. What the loop needs
The block connects through the G1/4 threads of its terminal and takes two compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box. The manual has a step for connecting the ARGB lighting, and an ARGB adapter is among its accessories. To run, the block also needs a pump and a radiator in the loop.
