The HEATKILLER RAD series
The new HEATKILLER RAD series is how Watercool expanded its product portfolio into mesh radiators. Two strengths are available: the Small (S) RADs at a thickness of 30 mm and the Large (L) RADs at 48 mm, which makes this 240-S the slim one. Watercool also names an optimized performance, compact dimensions and high-quality workmanship. Where the case has room for more depth, the thicker HEATKILLER RAD 240-L Black has the same footprint at 48 mm.
Finishing and quality control in Germany
Watercool says it worked in cooperation with a well-known manufacturer from Asia and succeeded in creating a high-performance mesh radiator with a unique look. The cooling cores are manufactured by that partner strictly in accordance with Watercool's specifications. The housing is produced directly on Watercool's premises in Waren, which means the final assembly and quality control are ultimately performed in Germany.
High cooling performance over the entire speed range
The goal of the development was to produce a competitive radiator with a wide performance range. Accordingly, with slow rotating fans the HEATKILLER RAD already provides a very good cooling performance, and it scales very well with increasing speed. When you want maximum cooling performance, it can of course also be used in push/pull mode, with a row of fans on each side.
The best raw materials in use
Watercool uses only high quality raw materials as the basis for this radiator. The pre-chamber and the cooling channels are made of brass, and the cooling fins are made of copper. The side panels are laser-cut from 1 mm thick steel plates or stainless steel, subsequently brushed or powder-coated in black or white, depending on the finish; on this model they are black. The front sides, made of brushed stainless steel, significantly contribute to the exclusive look.
Easy integration into the cooling circuit
Integration into the cooling circuit is done through two standard G1/4 inch threads. The required connections are not included in the scope of delivery, so plan on two fittings that match your tube. A small width of only 120 mm ensures you have a maximum of flexibility when you decide where it goes, and it takes standard 120 mm fans.

Notes
- Fan screws may not reach deeper than 5 mm into the radiator, since longer screws might damage the pipes. The mounting material Watercool shows is M3x30 and M3x5 screws, 4 per fan.
- The side panels can be removed for maintenance.
- Watercool recommends demineralized or deionized (distilled) water with a suitable corrosion inhibitor as coolant.
