What it is made of
Thermal Grizzly designed the pad for high-performance applications and calls its thermal conductivity outstanding, although the data sheet gives no W/mK figure. Its individual components are aluminum oxide, aluminum hydroxide and aluminum powder, each in varying particle sizes. Due to that mix, even the smallest gaps in the carrier material (matrix) can be filled with thermally conductive particles. This is especially true at the top and bottom surfaces, where, according to Thermal Grizzly, the optimized material composition offers low thermal interface resistance and promotes optimal heat transfer.
Fit and use
A soft consistency allows the pad to conform well to the surfaces of both the heat source and the cooler. It is electrically non-conductive. The pad needs no curing: it does not cure or harden over time, even with extended use.
Against the pads next to it
This is the successor to the Minus Pad extreme, with a new material composition. Per the data sheet it is softer than its predecessor, with thermal conductivity at a comparable level and an improved price-performance ratio. Thermal Grizzly rates its compressibility as comparable to that of Minus Pad Basic, which we stock in the same size and thickness.
