- I built a PC in the Fractal Design North case which features gold appointments such as the power-on button and usb front panel ports. The build already had a rear exhaust fan but I thought it would be both cool and functional if I replaced that with the Alphacool Apex Stealth metal fan in gold as an intake. I ordered the 2000 rpm fan during a preorder period. That was delayed but the 3000 rpm version wasn't. I requested and was allowed to switch my order to the 3000 rpm version. Thank you, Austin Welker, for your help and support in getting this order switched and delivered to me in a timely fashion. Now for the review. Installation was a breeze even though this fan is quite a bit heavier than plastic fans. Upon startup, this thing roared at full speed. After tweaking the fan profile in BIOS, it now runs quiet but pulls enough air into the case to create a decent positive pressure environment that benefits my AIO cooler. My temps are now a few degrees cooler than before. I don't know if this temp drop was because the fan pulls more air or the fact that I changed its orientation from exhaust to intake. Regardless, I wish I could post a pic of this to show how nice this looks in my case. (Posted on 2/14/2024)
