The Aquacomputer ULTITUBE 50 PRO Reservoir with D5 NEXT Pump (34156) is a pump and reservoir combo with an Aqua Computer D5 NEXT pump mounted directly on the bottom. The 50 mm borosilicate glass tube holds approx. 110 ml of coolant and has G1/4 connection threads. A pressure equalization membrane sits in the lid, and an RGBpx LED ring with 13 addressable LEDs plugs straight into the pump.

Borosilicate glass instead of acrylic

Every reservoir in the ULTITUBE series is equipped with a tube of borosilicate glass. Tube reservoirs are often made of acrylic glass (Plexiglas). In contrast to it, borosilicate glass has a very high hardness and scratch resistance, and Aquacomputer points to its excellent chemical and thermal resistance and very low thermal expansion. The tube's outer diameter is 65 mm with a wall thickness of 5 mm. Please note that in the ULTITUBE product name, the number 50/100/150/200 refers to the length of the glass tube in millimeters, so this one is 50 mm.

Metal rings made of black anodized aluminum are firmly connected to both ends of the glass, and they do not come into contact with the cooling medium. Base and lid are durable acetal, screwed to the tube. After unscrewing the cap there is a large opening, which makes filling the expansion tank easy.

Filter, seals and membrane

The bottom of the container holds an integrated filter element of fine stainless steel wire mesh. In addition to its function as a particle filter, it separates air bubbles from the coolant as well. The mesh is integrated into a molded rubber part, so it can be rinsed out under running water, for example tap water. The seal in the upper area of the glass tube is also a molded rubber part, designed for easy assembly. It is therefore securely positioned when the lid is screwed on.

What sets the PRO version of the ULTITUBE D5 apart is a gas exchange membrane integrated directly into the lid of the reservoir. Gases pass through the diaphragm, so pressure fluctuations caused by temperature changes are continuously compensated via the membrane. Coolant is not able to escape that way, while the internal pressure of the loop is being equalized with the ambient pressure.

RGBpx LED ring

The included RGBpx-compatible LED ring carries 13 individually addressable LEDs and can be used to effectively illuminate the reservoir. Its LEDs can be connected directly to the D5 NEXT pump. A connector at the end of the strip is there for connecting another RGBpx component in series.

The D5 NEXT pump

Here are the most important functions of the D5 NEXT at a glance. The pump runs on a Laing D5 spherical motor whose rotor sits on a ceramic ball, and Aquacomputer chose the ceramic bearings for optimal running smoothness, durability and longevity. A removable control unit gives easy access to the electrical connections. Its high-resolution OLED display and integrated buttons allow direct operation, even without a PC.

The aquasuite software handles convenient setting, evaluation and visualization of all sensor data. Activating this product gives you the current aquasuite version with an upgrade service for at least eighteen (18) months. After it expires, you may keep using and reinstalling the latest version from that period without a time limit. The update service can be extended or renewed at any time for a fee. What the loop needs

Reservoir connections are not part of the delivery, so please order suitable G1/4 fittings separately from our reservoir fittings section. Power comes from a SATA connector on your power supply, and the internal USB cable in the scope of delivery goes to an internal USB 2.0 port. System requirements are Windows 10 or newer and an internal USB 2.0 port. Fastening material for mounting vertically or on a side/rear wall is included, and four soft rubber decouplers are included for decoupling. For an additional, vibration-damping attachment of the expansion tank in the upper area of the glass tube, a rubber mounting ring with a stainless steel insert comes in the box too.

Notes

• Use Double Protect Ultra coolant or water. Coolants with solid micro particles, found in various opaque coolants, damage the D5 pump bearing.
• The pump is not suited for dry operation and must not run dry.
• The impeller must point upward or to the side relative to the controller unit, never hanging downward.
• The internal flow calculation needs a short calibration with blocked coolant flow, by kinking a hose or closing a ball valve in the loop.
