The Aquacomputer Backplate for Kryographics NEXT RX 6800 / RX 6900 - Passive (23702) is a passive graphics card back plate for RX 6800 and RX 6900 cards in reference design. It can only be mounted in addition to a kryographics NEXT RX 6800 / RX 6900 water block, which is not included.

What the plate does
This plate is manufactured from massive aluminum and anodized in a black color. Aquacomputer says it stabilizes the card mechanically, giving additional stability especially in the voltage regulator area. Thermal conductive pads between plate and card also carry heat away from the RAM and the voltage regulator area.
Installation
With the water block installed, lay the card back side up on a flat surface, resting on the block, and take out the seven screws that line up with the plate's mounting holes. Cut pieces from the supplied pads for the areas the manual's figure marks green and blue. The plate is then fastened with three M2.5 x 8 mm and four M2.5 x 10 mm countersunk screws.
The blue pad is optional: leave it off if inductor noise rises once the water block is on. Noise varies greatly between cards, so if in doubt, try both mounting options. Loosening single plate screws by about half a revolution often changes the noise too.
What the card needs
Please note that the graphics card and the kryographics water block are outside the scope of delivery; order them separately. Water blocks for these cards are in our AMD Radeon RX 6800/6900XT section.
Notes
- Check that plate and water block both have level contact to all relevant components of the card. If either does not fit, do not power on the card or the PC: take it apart and repeat the mounting.
