Details
The Aquacomputer Aqualis Base 880 mL with Fountain Effect (34052) is an 880 ml tube reservoir that sits on an Aquacomputer pump adapter through sockets in its base. It works only in combination with a compatible Aquacomputer pump adapter, ordered separately; no pump or adapter is included.
Properties
- Pump
- via a compatible Aquacomputer pump adapter (not included)
- Capacity
- approx. 880 ml
- Ports
- G1/4
- Size
- approx. 80 x 80 x 285 mm
- Lighting
- acrylic window in the base, room for up to six 5 mm LEDs
Borosilicate glass tube
Every expansion tank of the aqualis series is equipped with a tube made of borosilicate glass. In contrast to Plexiglas, which is the acrylic glass commonly used for reservoir tubes, borosilicate glass has a very high hardness and scratch resistance and very low thermal expansion. Aquacomputer rates its chemical and thermal resistance as excellent. This 880 ml reservoir has a tube with an outer diameter of 75 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm, where the smaller 100 ml and 150 ml variants use 50 mm.
Bases and covers of the series are made of Delrin. Here the base and the lid are connected by a stainless steel tube, which also carries the fountain effect. A nano coating that makes water roll off the inside of the glass is available on every variant; this article is the uncoated one.
Fountain effect and lighting
Connect the return line to the connector in the socket of the reservoir, and the water rises through the stainless steel tube to the top, where eight nozzles eject it. Aquacomputer calls this a real eye catcher in combination with illumination. A thin acrylic plate near the bottom of the reservoir keeps air ingestion to a minimum. Behind the acrylic window in the base part, up to six LEDs of the 5 mm type can be installed, for example art. no. 95025 (not included); see our 5 mm LEDs.
Made for pump adapters
The aqualis BASE series is suitable for attachment on Aquacomputer pump adapters, and Aquacomputer aims for maximum modularity with it. That allows you to use the reservoir through numerous builds, moving it to whichever pump carries a compatible adapter. Other reservoirs of this kind are in our aqualis BASE reservoir section.
What the loop needs
A compatible Aquacomputer pump adapter with its pump, ordered separately, holds the reservoir. The connection threads are G1/4, so the lines take G1/4 fittings from our fittings section.

Notes
- To open the reservoir, turn the top counter-clockwise; the glass tube then comes off easily. Keep the gaskets.
- On reassembly the gaskets go back into their grooves in the top and base part. Do not use any tools, only moderate force.
In the box
- 1x Reservoir with Aquacomputer Base
- Hardware and Accessories
- 5x sealing screws G1/4 (preinstalled)
The installation manual of the aqualis 450/880 ECO, PRO and XT reservoirs shows how to take the reservoir apart and put it back together.
