Borosilicate glass tube and Delrin
Like every expansion tank of the Aqualis series, this one is equipped with a tube made of borosilicate glass. Plexiglas tubes are commonly used for an expansion tank; borosilicate glass, in contrast, has a very high hardness and scratch resistance, very low thermal expansion and excellent chemical and thermal resistance. Here the glass tube has an outer diameter of 75 mm with a wall thickness of 5 mm, where the 100 ml and 150 ml variants use 50 mm. Bases and covers of the series are made of Delrin, and lid and base are connected by a stainless steel tube.
Fountain effect
With the return line on the connector in the socket of the reservoir, the water rises through the stainless steel tube to the top and leaves through eight nozzles. Aquacomputer calls it a real eye catcher in combination with illumination. A thin acrylic plate near the bottom keeps air ingestion to a minimum. The base part has an acrylic window, and up to six LEDs of the 5 mm type (not included in delivery) can be installed there.
What the loop needs
The Aqualis BASE series is made for attachment on an Aquacomputer pump adapter, which allows for maximum modularity: you can use the reservoir through numerous builds. It needs a compatible Aqua Computer pump adapter and the pump that adapter holds. Fittings for the G1/4 threads are in our fittings section, and other models are under Aqualis BASE reservoirs.
