Details
The Aquacomputer Aquainlet XT 100 mL with Fill Level and Lighting Option (34066) is a tube reservoir of approx. 100 ml designed to be mounted directly onto an aquastream XT / ULTIMATE or Eheim 1046 pump. It has an electronic fill level sensor with USB and aquabus interface, and a holder for one 5 mm LED under an acrylic window. Pump, fittings and LED are not included.

Made to sit on the pump
Aquacomputer matched the design to the pump, so after installation pump and reservoir form one unit. In particular, the pump's mounting rails are extended into the reservoir. According to Aquacomputer, this allows the mounting plate to be installed beneath the center of gravity for the first time, which is especially helpful when using rubber decouplers or a shoggy sandwich.
The reservoir goes onto the suction port of the pump. There an o-ring seals the connection between pump and reservoir, while two latches secure the reservoir to the pump housing. The latches also hold the bayonet coupling between pump cover and pump housing, preventing its accidental release. For the return line, the base has two connection threads, one at the front and one on the side, which allow flexible installation options where space is limited.
Borosilicate glass tube
The aquainlet reservoirs are closely related to the aqualis series, where many reservoirs are also available with pump top adapters and pumps pre-installed. Like all of them, the aquainlet is equipped with a borosilicate glass tube. Acrylic glass is often used for tube reservoirs. In contrast, borosilicate glass is extremely hard and scratch-resistant, and it features superb thermal and chemical resistance along with a very low thermal expansion.
On the 100 ml and 150 ml variants the glass tube has an outer diameter of 50 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. Base and top are made from Delrin, connected by a stainless steel rod. All variants are also available with a nano coating, which will cause water to roll off the inner surface of the glass tube; this version is the one without it.
Fill level sensor and alarm output
Additionally, the XT variants feature a programmable alarm output and an external temperature sensor input. Their fill level sensor is an mps pressure Δ40. For monitoring and configuration, the aquasuite software can be downloaded free of charge.
In addition to the USB interface, the 4-pin aquabus interface can directly connect the fill level sensor to an aquaero 5/6 controller (not included in delivery), such as the aquaero 6 LT. The alarm output can be configured as a rpm signal for a fan connector with fault detection (for example motherboard fan headers). Used as a switched output instead, it can connect a LED, for example. Fill level and the external temperature sensor input can each be configured to raise an alarm. That input is compatible with all Aqua Computer temperature sensors, found in our G1/4 temperature sensors section.
LED holder
One LED (5 mm size) can be installed into the base part, in the mounting hole above the pump receptacle and below the acrylic window. Secure it with a little amount of glue, and do this before the reservoir is mounted onto a pump. A small channel in the reservoir base carries the power supply cable of the LED. Suitable LEDs: our 5mm LEDs.
aquasuite software
When you activate this product you receive the current version of the aquasuite software, including an upgrade service for at least six (6) months. After the upgrade service expires, you may use and reinstall the latest version from that period without a time limit. The update service can optionally be extended or renewed at any time for a fee. Installation and activation of the software require an internet connection.
What the loop needs
You need the pump itself: an aquastream XT / ULTIMATE or an Eheim 1046, found in our Eheim pumps section. Connect the return line to one of the two connectors in the base and seal the other one with a sealing plug supplied with the reservoir. The pressure line connects directly to the pressure port of the pump, which may require an additional connection adapter (not included in delivery). Fittings for the water circuit are ordered separately from our fittings.
Compatibility
Aquacomputer lists the reservoir as compatible with the following pumps:
- aquastream XT / ULTIMATE
- Eheim 1046 and pumps identical in construction
Technical details
| Dimensions without pump | approx. 58 x 67 x 153 mm |
| Filling volume | approx. 100 ml |
| Connection threads | G1/4 |
| Recess around connection threads of the base part | diameter 26 mm, depth 4 mm (front) / 10 mm (side) |
| Recess around connection threads of the lid | diameter 23 mm, depth 3 mm |
Notes
- Connectors with a larger outer diameter than these recesses can only be installed with suitable extensions, such as our male to female extension fittings (not included in delivery).
- Before fitting, remove the silver suction grille from the suction side of the pump, and any connection adapters. Then slide the reservoir onto the suction port until it locks; a little water or glycerin on the seal inside the reservoir helps.
- To take the reservoir apart, turn the top counter-clockwise and lift out the glass tube, keeping the gaskets. For reassembly, align the gaskets in their grooves and screw the top on by hand with moderate force only.
In the box
- 1x Reservoir / Top Combo: one aquainlet XT 100 ml reservoir
- Hardware and Accessories: two sealing screws G1/4 (pre-installed)
- One pressure equalization membrane (pre-installed)
- One internal USB connection cable
Aquacomputer's installation manual for the aquainlet 100/150 PRO/XT shows how to fit the reservoir to the pump, install the LED, take the reservoir apart and connect it to the loop.
