The Alphacool Thermal Pad for NexXxoS GPX 3W/mk 30x30x2mm is a pack of two gray thermal pads, each 30 x 30 mm and 2 mm thick, with a thermal conductivity of 3W/mk. They go between a cooler and the parts it cools on a graphics card or mainboard.

What the pads do
Alphacool presents these as its new thermal pads with 3W / mk. Height differences and uneven spots on coolers (heat sinks) and cooled elements are inevitable, and so are the smallest grooves. The pads may be what gets all of these balanced, due to their very elastic adaptability under contact pressure and their low hardness.
Application
Alphacool lists three areas of application: the RAM cooler of a graphics card, the voltage transformer (voltage converter) on the mainboard, and the North and / or South Bridge. For the bridges it points to what it calls the excellent thermal conductivity of the pads. As basic equipment and spare parts, it says, these thermal pads have to be a part of any enthusiast's equipment and belong in every well-organized computer workshop.
What fitting them needs
Before use, the protective film which is attached to the surface of the pads must be removed. The pads can also be cut to the desired size, and that takes only a pair of scissors or a sharp knife. Other sizes of this thickness are in our 2 mm thermal pads section.
