The Alphacool Thermal Pad for NexXxoS GPX 3W/mk 15x15x3mm is a pack of 24 gray thermal pads, each 15 x 15 mm and 3 mm thick, with a thermal conductivity of 3W/mk. They sit between a cooler and the parts it cools on a graphics card or mainboard.

What the pads do
Alphacool introduces these as its new thermal pads with 3W / mk. Height differences and uneven spots on coolers (heat sinks) and cooled elements are inevitable, as are the smallest grooves. All of these may be balanced by the pads, due to their very elastic adaptability under contact pressure and their low hardness.
Application
Alphacool names three areas of application: the RAM cooler of a graphics card, the voltage transformer (voltage converter) on the mainboard, and the North and / or South Bridge. For the bridges it points to what it calls the excellent thermal conductivity of the pads. As basic equipment and spare parts, it says, these thermal pads have to be a part of any enthusiast's equipment and belong in every well-organized computer workshop.
What fitting them needs
The protective film which is attached to the surface of the pads must be removed before use. The pads can also be cut to the desired size, and a pair of scissors or a sharp knife is all that takes. Other pads of 3 mm and more are in our 3 mm thermal pads section.
