The Alphacool Thermal Adhesive Pad Double-Sided 26x30x0.5mm is one white thermal pad, adhesive on both sides, for mounting a heatsink that cannot be mounted conventionally. It measures 26 x 30 mm, is 0.5 mm thick and transfers heat with a thermal conductivity of up to 1W/mK.

What it is for
Alphacool calls the pad its answer to an often difficult situation: being unable to screw the cooler on. With it, it is possible to mount a heatsink at any desired spot without having to worry about mounts, mounting brackets, hole spacing or other constructive details. That is especially interesting for systems such as Alphacool's in-house MCX system, to allow mounting of mini heatsinks for graphics cards or mainboards (motherboards). Holding power
The MCX system is one use, but Alphacool says long-term testing shows these pads are capable of much more than just holding small heatsinks. A holding power of at least 16N/25mm means, in its words, an adhesive force greater than with some duct tapes. This allows even heavy coolers to be hung up, with the capability to deal with shocks and impacts from transport, twisting or permanent pressure.
Heat transfer
The engineers at Alphacool also paid attention to the thermal conductivity aspect, so cooling performance is not lost. Different from the first adhesive pads on the market, which were rather insulation than thermal conductor, this one moves heat at up to 1W/mK. The pad feels very similar to rubber and has the same advantages. It adapts to the surfaces easily, hence allowing what Alphacool calls the best possible heat transfer. The material is ROHS compliant.
What mounting needs
The pads are covered with a protective foil (film) on both sides when shipped. When this foil is pulled off, the bright white pad becomes visible. Multiple pre-cut dimensions make cutting almost obsolete. Should it be needed to adjust the size of a pad, simply use scissors or a knife. Other sizes are in our thermal adhesive section.
