Details
The Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper X-Flow 480mm Radiator is a 480 mm radiator for four 120 mm fans, 45 mm thick, for a water cooling loop. It is the X-Flow type, with the inlet on one chamber and the outlet on the opposite one. The radiator measures 532 x 124 x 45 mm and has M3 fan threads and six G1/4 connections, three on each chamber.

Full copper
Alphacool says the new NexXxoS radiators are the first to truly deserve the "Full copper" attribute. Not only the fins and channels but all main parts are made from copper, the chambers also. In Alphacool's words this brings an improvement in performance where other radiators are left without a chance.
X-Flow
In structure, Alphacool explains, the X-Flow Radiators differentiate materially from the standard radiators, because they are designed for high flow rates. A beveled copper chamber sits on both sides, and the two have an identical structure. Water enters one chamber and goes jetting through all available channels at the same time to the other chamber, which is where it then leaves the radiator.
Ports and mounting
Alphacool's research and development department focused on versatile and easy mounting as one of the main points. The chamber offers three possibilities for fitting installation on both inlet and outlet (not on the NexXxoS ST30), which gives this radiator its six G1/4 connections. With that choice less angled fittings are needed, improving flow rates and offering more mounting possibilities.
Fans and screws
Here, too, Alphacool provides the popular sizes of the 120mm series, and this radiator is the 480 mm size for four 120 mm fans. Different thicknesses of 30mm, 45mm and 60 mm underscore the broad spectrum that these radiators cover. Alphacool describes the mounting and installation of fans and radiator grills as easy and versatile too. The M3 threads are standard in the radiator sector, so M3 screws are available in all lengths at an affordable price. A screw driven too far into the radiator is the dreaded mistake, and here its insertion does not result in expensive damage. Unlike other radiators, Alphacool says, the series is equipped with an internal protective ledge which stops the screw before it damages the fins.
Fin spacing
Alphacool calls fin spacing always an important factor in radiator design, and this radiator has 16 fins per inch. According to Alphacool, its fin design allows the new series to perform extremely well even with slow-spinning and medium-speed fans. That is not only pleasant thanks to the fact that it avoids unnecessary noise. It also means that the choice of fans that can be used with these radiators is not restricted.
The NexXxoS range
Alphacool presents the new NexXxoS radiators under a name that, it says, stands for experience and quality and has come to bring a fresh breeze to the radiator market. Its reasoning: every user of a water cooling system needs a radiator, and everyone has different requirements toward the heat exchanger. Of course, it adds, the customer always demands the best in its class. Alphacool's claim is that these radiators have come to compete with and to beat the best in their class, and to be the best radiator in all sizes. It promises no more endless choices without a clear class leader and calls the range "the one tool for all your cooling needs". Alphacool also says it has been the company to introduce new developments and improvements in the radiator and water cooling sector generally, many times over the last years. Following this tradition, it sums the radiators up as the result of experience and powerful performance meeting future-oriented design and well-thought through solutions.
What the loop needs
Two of the six G1/4 connections are used, one as inlet and one as outlet, so the radiator takes two fittings. The other four connections take the four screw plugs in the box. It holds four 120 mm fans on its M3 threads, and mounting hardware is in the box.
The next thickness up in this fan size and type is the NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper X-Flow 480mm Radiator.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the radiator be used only in conjunction with clear, transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses. That can also result in voiding the manufacturer's warranty.
