The Alphacool HF 14 Smart Motion Universal Copper Edition is a universal water block for chipset and GPU chips. It is suitable for all common Mainboard Northbridge and Southbridge chips as well as NVIDIA and ATI GPU chips. Its pivoting mounting brackets cover hole spacings from 45 to 75 mm.

Fit
Alphacool calls the new SmartMotion universal cooler a true all-rounder and a multi-talent. Additionally the water block can also be used on the video-chip on graphics cards, or for other special solutions. This is made possible by the very flexible and movable mounting system, in which the mounting brackets are pivotably mounted. Should that not be enough, one additional mounting bracket is included in the delivery, which Alphacool says lets you cover all mounting needs.
The best part, in Alphacool's words: for replacing the brackets the water block doesn't have to be disassembled. Only a decorative plate has to be removed, and for one-piece brackets a separate decorative plate is included. Should additional brackets be needed in the future, they can simply be ordered without having to purchase a completely new water block.
Alphacool's notice: the block is also compatible as a chipset cooler for AMD X570 motherboards. However, the connectors on the cooler may collide with the graphics card in the first or second PCIe slot.
Copper cooling plate
Alphacool calls the performance truly amazing. The milled cooling structure in the pure copper cooling plate promises great cooling performance with high flow rates of 5 liters per minute, plenty for all high-flow systems in its words. The base plate is E-CU copper, the lid is made of what Alphacool calls durable POM, and the mounting bracket is 3 mm thick aluminum with aluminum trim.
What the loop needs
The spacing between the G1/4 threads is 24 mm from hole center to hole center, plenty for fittings with a large outer diameter. They take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box. To run, the block needs a pump and a radiator in the loop.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the block be used only in conjunction with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses. This can result in voiding the manufacturer's warranty as well.
