This is 3.3 m (10 ft, 330 cm) of matte black EPDM soft tube with a 5 mm inner and 8 mm outer diameter, sold as one length in a retail box. It is the Alphacool ES TPV 8/5 hose from the Enterprise Solutions series, optimized for server and workstation systems.

What is the advantage of EPDM?
Alphacool says the hose is characterized by its high resistance to acids, bases (alkalis) and external influences, and that it has an exceptional longevity compared to conventional PVC hoses. Against a standard, commercially available PVC tube it is significantly more temperature-resistant, which allows working temperatures well above 100 °C. Even at higher water temperatures the material remains dimensionally stable. According to Alphacool that prevents warping in places with narrower bending radii or at connections, and so eliminates the risk of the water circuit leaking or the flow being blocked. The same resistance is what makes the tube extremely durable and long-lasting, in Alphacool's words.
Assembly
The tube is slightly stiffer than PVC. Nevertheless, Alphacool credits it with excellent pliability and flexibility, for an effortless installation even with tighter bends.
What a run needs
Each run takes two fittings, one at each end. The tube can be used with all hose connectors of the appropriate size from Alphacool's Eiszapfen or HF series, and our 8/5mm compression fittings are that size.

Notes
- Please note: only use it in conjunction with clear, transparent water cooling liquids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can also result in the manufacturer's warranty becoming void.
