The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora GPX-N Acryl Active Backplate 3090 TI Founders Edition is a water-cooled backplate for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition graphics card. Alphacool also lists two Inno3D RTX 3090 Ti cards for it. It is an upgrade for Alphacool's Eisblock Aurora Acryl GPX-N RTX 3090 TI Founders Edition GPU water block (article number 13056), and it becomes part of the loop. Nickel-plated copper covers the back of the card under an acrylic top. It cannot be used in combination with Alphacool Eiswolf 2 AIOs.

The backplate was designed for one PCB layout, and graphics card manufacturers occasionally revise a card so that a cooler no longer fits later models. Before ordering, compare your card and its PCB number with the pictures in Alphacool's GPU Configurator, or look it up in its Compatibility List for Nvidia cards. Active cooling for the back of the card
Alphacool's text for this series of backplates speaks of Geforce RTX 3080/3090 graphics cards. With the help of the backplate, consisting of nickel-plated copper, the back of the card can now also be actively water-cooled, thus achieving what Alphacool calls a significant increase in cooling performance. It describes the backplate as the perfect upgrade for its Eisblock Aurora Acrylic GPX-N GPU custom water coolers (see the compatibility details above).
Brilliant illumination
Six addressable digital RGB LEDs are directly recessed into the backplate and run along the sides of the entire cooling block. Alphacool says this illuminates the whole block and creates unique lighting effects.
What the loop needs
There are 2 different ways to incorporate the backplate into your existing watercooling loop, as two connection options. Variant 1 uses the top side, where the cooler has an inlet and an outlet with G1/4 internal thread respectively. With suitable connections and hoses or hard tubes, which means two compression fittings for your tube size that are not in the box, it is easily integrated into the water circuit.
Variant 2 uses the inlet and outlet on the side, which are suitable for 5/3 mm hoses. With the help of Alphacool's MCX 2x manifold with 5/3 mm tubing (item 1022250), the active backplate joins the circuit in a space-saving way. It is a sensible choice if there is little space in the PC case and tubing runs will be difficult to do. Note that variant 2 only works with Eisblock Aurora Acryl and ES Acetal GPX-N GPU custom water coolers.
Alphacool calls the connection options very flexible for both variants, as inlet and outlet can be freely selected depending on the design. The pair of ports you do not use is closed with parts from the box. The two screw plugs go into the G1/4 threads with the enclosed plug tool, and the two MCX fitting plugs cap the tube connections on the side. The Digital aRGB LED lighting is connected via a JST 3-pin connector. It can be controlled with a Digital RGB controller (e.g. the Alphacool Aurora Eiscontrol, Art.15360) or a Digital RGB capable motherboard.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the backplate be used only with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, and that this can void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Place the thermal pads on the backplate as the manual shows before fastening it with the M2x11 screws.
