The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Arc B580 Steel Legend + Challenger with Backplate is a GPU water block for the ASRock Intel Arc B580 Steel Legend 12GB OC and Challenger 12GB OC graphics cards. It cools the card with a chrome-plated copper block under an acrylic top, and the black aluminum backplate is in the box.

Technical highlights
Alphacool says the block balances aesthetics and performance, and that it is precisely matched to the PCB layout of these two cards. The fin structure is based on the proven cooling technology of previous Eisblock coolers and has been specifically adapted to the requirements of the Arc B580 GPU. The fins are 0.4 mm thick. With that thickness and a fin spacing of 0.4 mm, Alphacool says the structure combines excellent water flow with high cooling performance. The jet plate features an inlay that distributes the water pressure better across the fins and optimizes heat absorption. An adjusted water inlet gives the water a better inflow angle.
Chrome-plated copper
The cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper, from the base up. Compared to nickel plating, Alphacool says, the chrome layer is harder, more durable, and less susceptible to scratches and chemical influences. Alphacool uses copper exclusively for the cooler plate, and its reason is that copper has almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum.
Design
Alphacool describes the design as visually calm and elegant. The addressable RGB lighting, with ten LEDs, runs along the sides of the cooler, providing uniform illumination. The light distribution is supported by the reflective chrome surface on the inside, which Alphacool says makes the lighting effect particularly clear and even.
What the loop needs
Alphacool's page and data sheet give the block two G1/4 connections. They take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box. Two screw plugs and a plug tool are in the box, and the manual has a step for screwing the plugs in with the tool. The power connection for the lighting is a 3-Pin JST plug at a voltage of 5V, and an RGB adapter is included. Thermal pads, thermal grease and a putty tool also come with the block.

Notes
- Please note: Alphacool asks you to use the block only in conjunction with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses. This can result in voiding the manufacturer's warranty as well.
- Remove the original cooler on an antistatic mat and clean the card of thermal paste and pad residues before you place the pads and fit the block.
