Details
The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Acryl GPX-N RTX 3090 TI FTW3 Ultra with Backplate is a GPU water block for EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 graphics cards. The FTW3 Ultra Gaming and the FTW3 Black Gaming are two of them. It cools the card with a nickel-plated copper block under an acrylic top, and the black aluminum backplate is in the box.

Alphacool lists these cards for this block:
- EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Black Gaming (24G-P5-4981-KR)
- EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Gaming (24G-P5-4983-KR)

- EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hydro Copper Gaming (24G-P5-4989-KR)
The block was built for one PCB layout, and card makers sometimes revise a board so that a cooler no longer fits later models. Before ordering, compare your card and its PCB number with the pictures in Alphacool's GPU Configurator, or look it up in its Compatibility List for Nvidia cards.
More performance
Alphacool says this graphics card water cooler combines style with performance, and that extreme cooling performance and an extensive digital RGB lighting characterize it. In its words, experience and technical know-how from more than a decade have gone into the development, without making any technical compromises. It calls the Eisblock Aurora Acryl GPX a significant evolution of its previous graphics card water cooler that has been improved in every area.
During the development, emphasis was naturally placed on increasing performance, in three steps. First, reducing the thickness of the heat conducting pads brought the cooler closer to the individual components. Next, the nickel-plated copper block was also made thinner. Step 3 involves the constant optimization of the water flow within the cooler. The result, according to Alphacool: all important components such as voltage converters and RAM are cooled much better and more effectively by the water, and the cooling performance increases significantly.
Brilliant design
The addressable digital aRGB LEDs are embedded directly in the cooling block and run along the sides of the entire cooler. The effect is an illumination that engulfs the whole block, so that no corner or edge is left unlit. The new design is more angular, and all of its edges are beveled. Better light diffusion in the water cooler is the result, due to the reflections on these bevels. They also create the various contours that give the cooler its very own visual touch.
Copper or aluminum?
Alphacool only uses copper in its water coolers, and in the case of this block the copper is nickel-plated. Compared to the previous models, however, it has once again improved the type of nickel plating. Alphacool says this has significantly increased the acid resistance and should prevent the plating from flaking off. Why does Alphacool use copper instead of aluminum? Its answer is that copper has almost twice the thermal conductivity and is therefore clearly the better material for water cooling.
Other special features
The GPU cooler has Alphacool's patented screw plugs, which sit flush with the surface of the terminal. The Alphacool logo sits in the corner on the top. On the front of the terminal, the corresponding designations of the compatible graphics card manufacturers can be seen. Both are fully illuminated by the addressable digital LEDs, of course. IN and OUT are marked by small discreet triangles, which are easily recognizable. Alphacool says they fit perfectly into the overall visual line of the cooler.
What the loop needs
The block has four G1/4 threads. Two take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box, and the other two take the two screw plugs that are, fitted with the included plug tool. For the lighting, the included Digital-aRGB adapter goes on the 3-Pin JST connector and plugs into a digital RGB controller such as the Alphacool Aurora Eiscontrol (Art. 15360, not included). Thermal pads, thermal paste, screws, washers and nuts also come with the block.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the block be used only with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, and that this can void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Remove the original cooler on an antistatic mat and clean the card of thermal paste and pad residues before fitting the block.
- The manual asks for a thin layer of thermal paste on the GPU, less than a millimeter thick, so that the surrounding components stay clean.
