What it cools
Alphacool calls this its performance thermal pad and says it can be used to cool electronic components of all kinds, where it is essential to effectively dissipate waste heat. The usual places are the voltage converters and VRAMs on graphics cards. In addition, the electronic components of Playstation and Xbox game consoles can also be cooled. Alphacool credits that with greatly improving their performance and durability.
Better Than Standard Thermal Pads?
In Alphacool's words, the Soft heat conduction pad is characterized by optimal compressibility. Its low hardness and a natural stickiness are the reason: due to both, Alphacool says, the Core pad adapts perfectly to surfaces and compensates for unevenness between components. That, the maker claims, thus ensures a significant improvement in heat transfer. The data sheet sums it up in five points: high thermal conductivity, low thermal resistance, high compressibility and compliancy, natural tack and good electrical insulation.
Increased Service Life!
Alphacool says the special material composition of the pad reduces the risk of silicone bleeding. By its account the pad stays in service for a substantially longer period of time than conventional heat conduction pads, without significantly losing performance.
Versatile Use!
The pad is electrically non-conductive, and Alphacool rates that insulation as excellent. Due to it, the maker names more places to use one: electronic components in electric vehicles, autopilot systems, cell phones, servers, motherboards and power supplies. The list continues with LCD TVs, notebooks, telecommunication devices, access points, memory modules, etc. More pads of this thickness are in our 2.0mm thermal pads section.
