The block was built for one PCB layout, and a card maker can revise a board slightly so that the cooler does not fit later models. Before you order, compare your card and its PCB number with the pictures in Alphacool's GPU configurator, or find it in the Compatibility List for Nvidia cards.
Copper block and terminal
A copper cooler milled from a single piece sits in the center of the block. It is complemented by a precisely manufactured brass connection terminal with a nylon cover. Alphacool says the chrome plating makes the copper cooler more resistant and ensures a smoother and brighter surface than conventional nickel plating. The series continues to rely on high-quality brass connections, which Alphacool says guarantee optimal quality and safety. Its data sheet adds massive brass threads for secure fastening and a Core design for maximum quality and feel.
Design and lighting
Alphacool presents this block as one of the new graphics card water coolers for the latest Nvidia Geforce RTX generation. They are part of its Core product series, and the visual design of the GPU water cooler has only been changed slightly. The special highlight is a newly added Core emblem above the jet plate, which underlines the fact that the block belongs to the series and visually enhances the design. The backplate is specially adapted to the card and covers the entire back of the copper cooler, which ensures a clear and uniform look. In combination with the aRGB lighting, the acrylic enables uniform and impressive lighting of the entire cooler.
Flow and testing
Technically, Alphacool says, the cooler has been completely redesigned. The distances between the cooler and the components of the PCB were redefined and tested to optimize the cooling performance. Alphacool simulated the water flow using the latest software and tested the result in practical tests. Those extensive tests made it possible to improve the cooler base and the nozzle, which Alphacool's page calls the jetplate. Alphacool's claim for the series is that these coolers combine the highest quality with exceptional performance. They offer outstanding cooling performance, it says, thanks to an optimized technical design, in order to ensure the best possible cooling for the new generation.
What the loop needs
The block has four G1/4 threads. Two of these connections take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box, and the other two take the two plugs that are. The lighting runs at a voltage of 5V and connects through a 3-Pin JST plug, and an ARGB adapter is included. Thermal pads, thermal grease, a putty tool, a plug tool and a screwdriver complete the box. The manual rates the thermal pads at hardness level Shore-00 35.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that only clear, transparent water cooling fluids go through the block. The particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog a radiator, pump, cooler or hose and damage it permanently, and that can void the manufacturer's warranty.
- The manual has you take the original cooler off on an antistatic mat and clean thermal paste and pad residues from the card first.
- Per the manual, the card's original IO shield goes back on with the backplate.
