This pump is the world's first pump to be used in serial-production water-cooled workstations and is ideally suited for watercooling of processors and electronic components. Because of their size and power can be used in a variety of applications.
This DDC pump is an electronically commutated spherical motor pump, with running times of more than 50,000 hours at 12 volts. The only moving part in a spherical motor pump is a spherically shaped rotor / impeller unit, which sits on an ultra-hard, wear-resistant ceramic ball. A conventional shaft with bearings and shaft seals have been eliminated. The spherical bearing of rotor / impeller unit on the ceramic ball offers a number of advantages: The development of bearing play - and thus a noise increase - is not possible in principle. The pump is silent over the entire term. The bearing is self-adjusting. It is lubricated directly by the transported medium (wet rotor design). Since the rotor is always magnetically held in the intended position, small particles are not a problem.
Blocking of the pump is not possible under normal circumstances. Even after a prolonged standstill is given a safe start. the permanent magnetic rotor / impeller unit is driven by the magnetic field generated by the surrounding stator. This is completely built around the rotor. The entire pump is thus with 38 mm only slightly higher than the stator itself. It easily fits in all commercially available PC, Barebone and Mini PC housing. A separate magnetic shielding is not necessary under normal circumstances. The spherical motor design permits economical operation with comparatively high performance. All wetted parts are corrosion resistant.
